             Why do Commercial
Silver Speaker Cables Cost So Much?

Many of the World's best high definition speaker cables (most starting at $2,400 and up, i.e. Kimber 4AG™) are made of pure silver insulated with Teflon or PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene).  Why you ask? Technicalities aside, well designed silver cables are extremely pleasing for their smooth, detailed, and natural presentation.

Another benefit of silver is that oxidized silver  (silver oxide, or "tarnish") is highly conductive, as opposed to Copper Oxide, which is a semi-conductive, energy storing material (hence the effort to make "oxygen free" copper).  Therefore, as the silver ages the sound quality is not diminished as it can be with copper (OFC copper is internally oxygen free, almost, but is still exposed to external oxidization).

There are many great, cost-no-object Silver Speaker cables out there.  And if you can afford $2,4for such cables as Kimber 4AG™ or $4,600 for 8AG™, by all means buy them.  They are great cables.  But if you are like the rest of us, and want the most sound for the dollar, buy our cables and get a glimpse of audio heaven for a down to earth price.

These commercial cables are expensive for many reasons:

bulletThe Materials (silver is typically 100 times as expensive as copper)
bulletLabor costs
bulletManufacturing overhead (building, lights, administrative staff etc.)
bulletAdvertising Costs (Stereophile, Stereo Review, Audio etc.. are not cheap!)
bulletDealer Markup (The biggest of all! they have their bills too)

Lets look at a hypothetical example of what goes into a $2,400 price tag.

The Pure Silver "Sound"

When you replace your older (and possibly more expensive) copper cables with Pure Silver Sound Sextet™, prepare to be amazed!

You will have eliminated the "graininess" from the highs, the mids will become liquid smooth.  You will start hearing the "wood" in that old upright bass.  The human voice will come "alive".  You can probably put off buying that new expensive piece of equipment, because you will have extended the life of your old gear with a new sounding system.  The listening area should sound wider and deeper, with better focused "images" of the recreated event.

Cable Comparisons

We have used several silver speaker cables in the past (and fell in love with them).    Having compared our cables with the few we have tried we have to say we are very pleased.  Is it biased?, because we made the cables ourselves by hand, we don't think so (although there is a certain amount of pride in owning your own custom made cables).   We think you can achieve 98% of the big guys cable sound for around 10% of their cost.  A pretty good ratio if you ask us!

Interconnect Cables Too!

With many all silver designs running from $430 to $1400 or more for a single meter, you can save a bundle with our cables.  Starting at just $249.90 for a meter, you can now afford to have all silver wiring through-out your system!  Previously, a goal only dreamed of by many audiophiles!
